Dear Resident
Good evening to you all from the Four Oaks Neighbourhood Teams
On this set of shifts your neighbourhood team have been busy in your community carrying out the following tasks
We have been carrying patrols in Mere Green retail areas deterring shoplifters, Hill Hook Nature Reserve and Badgers Bank Road after reports from residents of Anti-Social Behaviour.
Four Oaks Neighbourhood
Theft of Motor Vehicle Hill Hook Road – On Sunday 18th October 2026 between 20.30hrs and 07.15hrs a Bronze Land Rover Discovery was stolen by unknown means. Vehicle was recovered and 4 persons have been arrested. Four Oaks Common Road – On Wednesday 21st October 2026 between 23.00hrs and 07.00hrs a White Ford Transit Van was stolen by unknown means.
If you do own a keyless entry vehicle, please make sure that your keys are kept in a faraday pouch (always remember to check your Faraday pouch is still working), when at home or out and about, this will stop thieves getting the signal for your vehicle. Using a steering wheel lock is also a visual deterrent. For more crime prevention advice go to www.westmidlands.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/ Please remember to lock all windows and doors, do not leave keys in your doors, especially if you have a cat/dog flap, before heading out make sure your home looks like someone is in.
Surgeries All Saints Church, Sutton Coldfield. St James Church, Mere Green. Spoken with residents about issues in the area and gave crime prevention advice.
Meeting held With Councillor Raaj Shamji, Iain Aiken and Karl Randle from Birmingham City Councils Highways Department discussing parking problems around school parking and what solutions can be put in place to make it safe for school children.
The Four Oaks Neighbourhood Team are working with the schools to try and deter the lack of consideration of how some motor vehicles are parked on the road outside schools. Of course, if vehicles are taxed and insured, they can park on the public highway BUT the issues arise when vehicles are parking on the yellow lines and zigzag’s, on footpaths, double parking and completely or partially obstructing driveways. When vehicles are parked in this fashion, they are causing an obstruction offence and therefore liable to a fine. Please remember to park in the correct manner, as we want to keep the children safe.
On Sunday 25th October officers from Four Oaks and Vesey Neighbourhood Teams have attended Dussehra Mela a Hindu Festival held at Sutton Coldfield Rugby Club.
Have a safe week. Kind Regards Four Oaks Neighbourhood Teams
